The Media & FA

To all of you who are connected with the Media and who have an interest in the benefits that can be gained from Families Anonymous for family members and friends of those affected by the illness of drug addiction. This is an illness that can affect anyone and has no respect for colour, creed or family circumstances. We do appreciate that the media has the capabilities to be enormously helpful in conveying to the public a better understanding of this devastating illness.

We are very happy to give information about FA and to talk freely as individuals of our personal experiences. We keep the focus on us and our recovery. Part of this recovery is keeping our 12 Traditions and being mindful of our members' anonymity. Our 11th Tradition states: "Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, films and TV. We need guard with special care the anonymity of our members, as well as those of other recovery programmes."
